India vs Australia 2017, Fourth Test, Dharamshala: India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja batted brilliantly in the first session of Day 3 and helped India take a crucial lead of 32 runs.
Jadeja formed a good partnership with Wriddhiman Saha and put India in a strong position at the end of the first innings. In the process, the Jamnagar boy became the third all-rounder ever to score 500-plus runs and take more than 50 wickets in a season, behind India’s legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev and Australia’s Mitchell Johnson.
It wasn’t easy going for Jadeja and Saha as Australian fast bowlers Pat Cummins and Josh Hazelwood bowled fast and tested their technique with good lines and length. Nathan Lyon also bowled brilliantly into the rough and troubled Jadeja by turning the ball away from him. But, Jadeja kept his composure and scored a fighting fifty, and celebrated it in his trademark ‘Rajput boy’ style. Watch it here:
