The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is the richest cricket board in the world. India has large number of cricket-watching population and this is the biggest reason why BCCI make the amount of money it does. BCCI’s domestic T20 league Indian Premier League (IPL) is world’s richest T20 league.
On Wednesday, while the board announced new grades for the cricketers, it also mentioned the amount they will be paid for playing matches across formats. Here, we did a grade-wise break down of players’ income.
GRADE A

Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ajinkya Rahane, Cheteshwar Pujara, Ravindra Jadeja, Murali Vijay
Retainer amount: Rs 2 crore
Match fees: Rs 15 lakh for Test, Rs 6 lakh for ODI and Rs 3 lakh for T20
GRADE B
Rohit Sharna, KL Rahul, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammed Shami, Ishant Sharm, Umesh Yadav, Wriddhiman Saha, Jasprit Bumrah, Yuvraj Singh
Retainer amount: Rs 1 crore
Match fees: Rs 15 lakh for Test, Rs 6 lakh for ODI and Rs 3 lakh for T20
GRADE C
