VIDEO: Australia all-out for just 85 runs by South Africa

Australia were bowled out for 85 runs on the first day of the Second Test against South Africa at Hobart in Tasmania. On a greenish pitch in humid conditions, Australia lost first 4 wickets for just 8 runs. This happened after South Africa asked Australia to bat first after winning the toss on a pitch that had a covering of grass on it. It started with David Warner’s wicket, who tried to chase a ball that was way out of his reach.

Australia batsmen struggled against the moving ball, as South Africa’s fast bowlers Vernon Philander and Kyle Abbott bowled brilliantly and took 8 wickets among them. Philander, who was leading South Africa’s bowling attack in the absence of Dale Steyn, took 5 wickets and Kyle Abbott took 3.

The only Australian batsman to put a fight was the captain Steve Smith. Steve Smith batted for 80 balls and scored 48 runs. Smith ran out of partners in the end was left stranded was Nathan Lyon was the last one to be dismissed.
