A very funny incident happened in the first innings of the ongoing Test match between Australia and South Africa, when David Warner was batting on 97* and Mark Nicholas shared a a piece of statistics from the commentary box that “David Warner has never been dismissed in the nervous 90s in Test cricket”. Shane Warne, who was commentating along with Nicholas reminded him of ‘commentators’ curse’.

“Mark, sorry, what did you just say?” Shane Warne said. “Why did you have to bring that up?”.

On the next ball, David Warner poked outside the off-stump and edged an out-swinging delivery from Dale Steyn, straight into the hands of Hashim Amla at slips, who completed an easy catch.

Over the years we have seen many batsmen falling to commentators’ curse, but this was an ‘Insta-jinx’ by Mark Nicholas. David Warner well just 3 runs short of a Test hundred and it was his wicket that opened the doors of comeback for South Africa. Warner got dismissed when Australia’s score was 158 and after his wicket, Australia lost nine more wickets for just 86 runs and their final total was 244 runs.
