England’s all-rounder Ben Stokes created a controversy when he denied to shake hands with a Bangladeshi cricketer in a tour game. This happened after Ben Stokes had an ugly on-field altercation with Tamim Iqbal after the second ODI of the recently concluded series between Bangladesh and England.
Ben Stokes tweeted after that incident that it was his reaction to Tamim putting a shoulder to his teammates at handshakes.
“Congrats to Bangladesh on the win tonight, outplayed us, what I won’t stand for is someone putting a shoulder to my teammate at handshakes.”
Later, England’s ODI skipper Jos Buttler also commented on the issue and said:
“Obviously emotions run high, and Ben is an emotional guy, but he would not have reacted like that if nothing had happened.”
