Video: Sundar Pichai talks about his dream to play cricket and Sunil Gavaskar

The CEO of Google Sunder Pichai who visited India on thrusday went into a Interview with Harsha Bhogle and also played cricket at the India Gate with a few local residents. When asked about cricket the Google CEO said that he wanted to be a cricketer in his childhood, reversing legends like Sunil Gavaskar during his childhood years, Pichai also talked about his childhood days in Chennai.

The 43 year old IIT Karangpur alumni said “I did dream of being a cricketer like so many Indians. I used to be a huge fan of Sunil Gavaskar when he was playing and later, Sachin Tendulkar when he played. I always had a dream”. While Sunder Pichai said that he enjoyed watching Test and ODI cricket he also said that T-20 cricket was the format he didn’t liked. He said “I always thought test cricket was amazing. I had the time to watch it too….But T-20 is not something I grew up with , So I didn’t enjoyed it as much as I do test cricket or one day matches.”

Pichai also said that he is a huge fan of football as well and Barcelona is his favourite team with Messi as his favourite footballer.
“I am huge football fan as well. I remember when I was young, I would drive my mom crazy. I would wake up in the middle of the night to watch World Cup soccer to watch the Brazilian team in those days. Cricket and Football are two sports that I follow. I am a big Barcelona and Messi fan”.
