India’s opening batsman Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant hundred in the first T20I of the 3-match series between India and South Africa, at the HPCA stadium (Dharamshala). Rohit looked in fine touch right from the first over of the match and he reached his first T20I hundred with a brilliant six over long-off boundary. Rohit played shots all around the wicket and make South African bowlers look ordinary. Although, India lost the match but Rohit Sharma will always remember his first T20I hundred as he now holds the record for the highest individual score by an Indian batsman in T20Is.
Although, Rohit’s innings was full of elegant strokes, there is one shot that stands out. Rohit played a brilliant scoop-shot that was very similar to what Proteas legend AB de Villiers is master of.

“Any hundred you get for your country in any format it is always special and I will cherish this. Unfortunately it didn’t come in a winning cause which is disappointing. It doesn’t matter how many runs you score. You are not happy if your team doesn’t win at the end of the day. But personally, I felt good batting out there,” Rohit Sharma told BCCI.tv.
