Indian bowlers bowled brilliantly on Day 5 of the third and final Test of Cricbuzz 2015, and sealed a series win for India on the Lankan soil after a long gap of 22 years. All 5 bowlers bowled in partnerships and didn’t allow Sri Lankan batsmen to make a move by picking up wickets at regular intervals.

It started with Ishant Sharma’s brilliant spell in the last session of Day 4 in which bowled with a lot of aggression and took 2 key wickets of Upul Tharanga and Dinesh Chandimal. But, the biggest change in match came when Ishant Sharma dismissed Sri Lankan captain Angelo Mathews in the last session of Day 5, with the second new ball.

Ravichandran Ashwin also bowled brilliantly on Day 5 and took 4 Sri Lankan wickets. Ashwin was also declared ‘man of the series’ for his 21 wickets in three matches. Umesh Yadav was a bit wayward but he bowled with a lot of pace and aggression that helped him bag 3 crucial wickets. Amit Mishra’s only wicket in the second innings was the last Lankan wicket.

All in all, it was a brilliant bowling performance by India’s bowling-unit. It’s a performance that they can be proud of.
