Last week we saw an extraordinary turn of events that once again brought into question the BCCI’s ability to manage corruption. A court in Delhi has decided that the high profile Sreesanth is not guilty of spot fixing in the sixth edition of the Indian Premier League. However, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has decided to uphold the ban on Sreesanth.
This decision by the BCCI has triggered a big debate regarding Sreesanth’s comeback, as many believe that the clean chit by the court is more reliable than any BCCI “internal” inquiry. Now, Sreesanth’s comeback decides on how early BCCI decides to review his case as he is already 32 and has had many injury problems in his career.
While we wait for the decision, this video of Sreesanth castling Adam Gilchrist and Matthew Hayden in the semi-final of 2007 T20 World Cup will bring back some good old memories.
