Clashes broke out between two rival group of spectators during the 33rd over of the Sri Lankan innings during the third ODI between Sri Lanka and Pakistan  at Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. Sri Lanka’s Thisara Perera and Dhanuka Pathirana of Sri lanka were on the crease when the incident happened. The security forces were able to successfully contain the situation and none of the players were injured as they were rushed to the dressing room.

This resulted in the suspension of the match for a while. The commandos were deployed to contain the situation and ensure safety of the players.
