Video: Virat Kohli Defends A Free-Hit Delivery

Virat Kohli defended a free-hit against Bangladesh in the 2nd ODI played at Shere Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur on 21th June 2015. This stroke attracted a lot of eyeballs as playing a “defensive” stroke on a free hit is a very rare sight in the game of cricket.

India’s loss against Bangladesh has led to a lot of criticism towards MS Dhoni-led unit. But the cricket fans are trolling Virat Kohli, Dhoni’s depute in shorter formats of the game, and it has nothing to do with India’s defeat against The Tigers. As India bundled out for 199 in the second ODI, Virat Kohli was trolled for defending a free-hit delivery. The incident took place in the fourth over of the Indian innings. The sixth delivery of the Taskin Ahmed-over was a no-ball following which Kohli received a free-hit. However, he did not even attempt to hit a big one and instead defended it towards a fielder guarding the point area.
