“It’s the weight of expectation that’s the hardest to deal with, really, from my point of view.” ~ Kevin Pietersen

Kevin Pietersen is one of themost flamboyant and dominating batsmen this world has ever seen. His ability to destroy the opponents, with his bat, is incredible, to say the least. In the last 7 years or so, Kevin Pietersen, who is popularly know as KP, has been the backbone of England’s middle order. Although, KP is known for his aggressive style batting, his greatest achievements have come in test match cricket. He has scored runs everywhere in the world, and unlike most of the English batsmen, he doesn’t have too many weaknesses against spin bowling, in fact, he has been England’s most prolofic batsman in the sub-continent conditions, in the last 7 years or so.

On the occasion of KP’s 100th test match, here are some of his statistical achievements.

Kevin Pietersen has now become the 10th English batsman and 56th overall to play 100 Test Matches.

He needs 113 runs more to become 5th English batsman to complete 8000 Test Runs.

He will easily be the fastest English batsman to reach the feat. He has scored 7887 runs in 171 Innings.

Fastest Englishman to 8000 Test Runs is Graham Gooch in 189 Innings.

He is the highest run getter for England in International Cricket. He has scored 13485 runs for England.

The next best is Graham Gooch with 13190 runs.

He has scored 32 centuries in his International Career for England which is the most for England.

He is followed by Cook with 30 100s. He requires 136 runs to complete 2000 runs in Ashes.

He will be the 11th England player to achieve this. KP in Ashes Mat 22, Inns 40, Runs 1864, Avg 49.05, 100s 4, 50s 11, Best 227.

KP in Australia Mat 10, Inns 16, Runs 850, Avg 56.66, 100s 2, 50s 4, Best 227.

We wish Kevin Pietersen all the best for his 100th test match.
