T20 World Cup 2022: “Aapke video dekh ke kaafi help mila” – Arshdeep Singh Credited Irfan Pathan For His Incredible Performances

India’s talented bowler Arshdeep Singh has been the player to watch out for in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 as he has impressed one and all with his terrific performances for the Indian cricket team. Arshdeep has been on a roll in the ongoing marquee tournament, having picked a total of 9 wickets off just 4 games.

He made a dream World Cup start for the Indian cricket team by dismissing  Pakistan’s Babar Azam on his first ball. He dismissed a total of three batters in India’s opening game against Pakistan, and in the next three games as well, he picked up 2 wickets each. He has delivered for the Indian side at the start as well as at the end by giving important breakthroughs.

Meanwhile, in an interview with Irfan Khan on Star Sports’ show ‘Follow the Blues’, Arshdeep Singh credited the former cricketer for his rise and also claimed that watching his videos on YouTube helped him a lot. He said: ‘Sabse jyada kaam meine youtube pe aapke video dekhne pe kiya. aage bhi ye koshish karunga ki video dekhte rahu,’ (The most work I have put is into watching your youtube videos which have helped him a lot. I will keep doing so in the future also).

Further, Arshdeep revealed that his main priority has been on maintaining consistency as there is no room for mistakes in international cricket. He also stated that the Indian bowling coach Praras Mhambrey is helping him work on improving his run-up. He said:

“My focus was always on consistency. You cannot afford to give too many loose balls at the international level. I want to be good while bowling with the new ball and with the old ball. I want to pick wickets or control runs as per the need,”

He added: “Paras Mhambrey worked with me on my run-up. He said, if I come straight, I will get more consistency with my line. You cannot afford bad lines on Australia wickets so I am putting efforts to come straight and I am able to see the results but I hope to do better,”
