The Governing Council meeting took place on Monday to finalize the IPL 2020 Schedule. There were talks that the matches will start early but there is no change in timings.

BCCI Has Announced The Timing And New Rules For IPL 2020

The BCCI President Sourav Ganguly said, “There will be no change in the timing of the IPL night games. It will start at 8 pm like earlier years. There was a discussion about 7:30 pm but it’s not happening. We will have only five double-headers this time.”

Earlier in the IPL schedule, there used to be two double-headers each weekend but this time there will be only five double-headers. Also, there were talks about Ahmedabad being a possible venue for the Final but according to the report, the new stadium in Gujrat is still not match-ready.

One more change in the IPL schedule for this season is that Rajasthan Royals will play three of their seven games at Guwathi.

So, the 13th season of the IPL will take place from 29th March till 24th May which is an increase in the number of days because of the decrease in double-headers. The full IPL schedule with all the games will be announced shortly.

One more big news that came out of the meeting is that BCCI will organize a charity match before the IPL. It will be an All-Stars match before the start of the new season of the IPL which will consist of top international players for a good cause. The money which will be received from the match will be used in charity which is a great initiative by the BCCI. The players and the venue for the charity will be decided later depending on availability.
