Love proposals in sporting arenas have now become a trend over the past few years. Such romantic moments used to happen regularly in the sports in the western world and have now caught up with cricket matches as well.
The first in-stadium proposal of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 came during the India-Netherlands Super 12 game on Thursday at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The video of the same has gone viral.
During the 7th over of Netherlands’ innings, the camera panned toward a couple in the crowd. The male went on his knee, pulled out a ring and asked his partner whether she’d marry him. With much elation and a beaming a smile, the girl accepted the proposal.
The pair hugged and the girl couldn’t contain her emotions as she came to terms with the magnitude of the decision – Marriage – in front of a jam-packed SCG.
The ICC posted this heart-warming video on their social media handles with the caption “She said yes”
