The debate and animosity between the fans of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma on social media have been going on for a long time now; even though both the cricketers are good mates and have thrown support behind each other regularly, their fans online haven’t found peace with each other yet.
Both have attained greatness in all forms of the game with spectacular accolades they have achieved over the course of their India and IPL careers.
While Kohli leads the IPL run-scoring chart, Rohit has more IPL trophies as captain under his belt. While Kohli has Test records against most teams, Rohit has excelled in white-ball cricket in recent years.
While Rohit won the 2007 T20 World Cup, Kohli won the 2011 ODI World Cup, etc. Under Kohli, India became a fearsome, conquering Test team; since Rohit took the captaincy last year, India haven’t lost a single white-ball series yet.
Trolling, name-calling, mockery – Here are five recent instances when Virat Kohli’s fans found an opportunity to troll Rohit Sharma:

Fans trolled Rohit for getting injured before South Africa tour
Rohit Sharma’s Test career can be divided into two sections: at home, he averages an astonishing 73 while outside India he averages a mediocre 31.
His reputation of not performing well in Tests outside India and getting injured before an overseas tour was compounded when he sustained a hamstring injury while training days before flying out to South Africa in December 2021 for a 3-Test series. Further giving an opportunity to be ridiculed, some even said that Sharma was faking injury to avoid touring SA.
No. Of games missed due to injury

Mumbai Indians losing 8 matches in a row
Rohit Sharma-led Mumbai Indians lost 8 matches in a row at the start of the IPL 2022 creating a new, unwanted and embarrassing record in the IPL. It was a shocker given MI are the 5-time champion.
In the previous years, it had been RCB who were subject to trolling for their losses, but this time RCB and Kohli fans got the chance to pounce on MI’s misery.
Absolutely. I guess this not only exposes ” Best Captain theory” , it also gives redemption to Kohli.

Both Rohit and Kohli scored ducks
Both Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli had a disappointing IPL 2022 season with both having sub-par returns with the bat. During a point in the tournament, after Kohli had scored a duck, even Rohit followed it up with a duck, spurring social media, as Sharma created the record for most ducks (14) in the IPL.
Records made by @ImRo45 today!!!
-First ever captain to lose back to back 7 matches in IPL
-First captain to lose all first 7 matches in IPL
– Having most ducks in IPL
My Opinion:
Believe it or not, it’s called captaincy pressure!
And you troll @imVkohli for this#IPL2022

Hardik Pandya abusing Rohit Sharma made Kohli fans happy
Recently, on the tour of England, Hardik Pandya was heard abusing about skipper Rohit Sharma regarding a field placement. Some Kohli fans considered this a aa clear sign of disrespect by Pandya to Sharma, stating that Kohli was never treated like this during his tenure as India’s captain.
no one likes you, people openly question your authority, even an ex MI player doesn’t respect you @imro45

Rohit ruled out of Edgbaston Test due to covid-19, fans said Kohli should lead again
Rohit once again missed an overseas Test – the Edgbaston Test in July 2022 vs England as he was down with covid-19. Kohli fans requested the board to let Kohli lead the team for one more time as India had taken the 2-1 lead under Kohli. However, Bumrah made his captaincy debut, but India lost the Test.
