India’s fast bowler Mohammed Shami has been winning praises from all corners after he reached a special milestone in his Test career. The speedster became only the 5th Indian pacer to pick up 200 wickets in the longest format of the game.
Shami’s five-haul wicket helped team India bowl out Proteas for 197 runs and seal a thumping 130-run lead, despite a lower-order collapse on Day 3 of the ongoing Boxing Day Test match in Centurion.

Shami put one of his finest spells of fast-bowling to trouble the South African batters with his trademark upright seam position. He led the pace attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, who was taken off-field after he suffered an ankle injury.
He also became the third-fastest speedster to reach the landmark. Kapil Dev (50 Tests) and Javagal Srinath (54 Tests) are the only other Indian pacers to have achieved this milestone in fewer Tests than Mohammed Shami.
Meanwhile, the sensational bowler has been receiving praises from the cricket fraternity. From cricketers, experts to fans, everyone came up with special tweets hailing the brilliance of Shami. Among many, former Indian cricketer Mohammad Kaif also joined the bandwagon and heaped praises on the Indian star bowler.
Mohammad Kaif took to Twitter and hailed Shami for his incredible performance with the ball. In his Tweet, Kaif claimed that Shami is the most underrated pacer and asked everyone not to take him lightly. He also stated that Shami has the same quality as the legendary Jasprit Bumrah, James Anderson and Pat Cummins. He wrote:
“Mohammad Shami is easily the world’s most underrated pacer. Bhai ko halke mein maat lena, yeh toh heavy driver hai. Shami has the same quality as Bumrah, Anderson, Cummins.
