Ishan Kishan is one of the most promising talents in the country right now. The left-handed batsman is a part of the Mumbai Indians in IPL 2020, and he has batted with supreme consistency. Although many fans feel that Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, and Sanju Samson are the top contenders to replace MS Dhoni in the Indian cricket team, Ishan Kishan is the wildcard in that race.

The southpaw can play anywhere in the batting order. In IPL 2020, he played a wonderful knock of 99 runs against the Royal Challengers Bangalore while batting in the middle order. When Rohit Sharma picked up an injury, the wicket-keeper batsman opened the innings along with Quinton de Kock. Apart from the IPL, Kishan has also done well in the domestic cricket arena.

Here are the top three records that are in the name of the Jharkhand-based youngster.

Highest score by a player for Jharkhand in Ranji Trophy

Jharkhand has produced some great cricketing talents over the last few years. But the record for the highest individual score by a batsman playing for Jharkhand in the Ranji Trophy is held by Ishan Kishan. The left-handed batsman achieved this feat while playing against Delhi in the 2016 Ranji Trophy season.

Delhi had reduced Jharkhand to 80/4 when Ishan Kishan came out to bat at number six. The wicket-keeper batsman bashed the bowlers as he raced to 273 runs off 336 deliveries. Kishan smacked 21 fours and 14 sixes in his knock. Rishabh Pant and Unmukt Chand hit centuries for Delhi. Still, they could not avoid the follow-on. Lastly, the match ended in a draw.

Most sixes by a batsman in a single innings of Ranji Trophy

Ishan Kishan created two records in his knock of 273 runs. Apart from becoming the new owner for the record of the highest individual score by a Jharkhand batsman in Ranji Trophy, Kishan also levelled Shakti Singh’s record for the most sixes in a single Ranji Trophy innings. Singh had sent 14 deliveries out of the park while playing for Himachal Pradesh against Haryana.

It is pertinent to note that Singh had scored only 128 runs during that match played way back in 1990 at Dharamshala. Still, Kishan matched his feat by slamming a dozen and two more maximums against Delhi. Unfortunately, his inning did not prove to be a match-winning one as Delhi managed to stretch it to a draw.

2nd highest opening partnership in a T20 match played in India

The record for the highest opening partnership in a T20 game played in India is in the name of Hazratullah Zazai and Usman Ghani who added 236 runs for the first wicket in a match between Afghanistan and Ireland at Dehradun. However, in the other T20s, the best opening partnership featured Ishan Kishan and Shikhar Dhawan.

The two left-handed batsmen achieved this feat in a charity match for Road Safety Awareness. Kishan played an epic knock of 124 runs. He faced only 49 deliveries in his quickfire knock. Shikhar Dhawan backed him with an unbeaten 68* as Road Safety XI defeated No Honking XI by ten wickets. They chased down a target of 204 runs in the 14th over itself, with Kishan smacking nine fours and 12 sixes.
