New Zealand opening batsman, Martin Guptill scored the highest individual score in the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 with a score of an unbeaten 237 against West Indies in the fourth quarter-final at the Wellington Regional Stadium on Staurday.
Guptill’s double hundred helped New Zealand post a massive total of 393. Guptil also became the first New Zealand batsman to score a double hundred in One Day International (ODI) cricket and fifth overall. He also became the second man after Chris Gayle to do so at the mega event.
Martin Guptill is the fifth man in the world to achieve the feat and also is invloved in the sixth instance of a batsman scoring 200 in ODIs. He joins the elite panel of Sachin Tendulkar (200*), Virender Sehwag (219), Rohit Sharma (209 & 264) and Chris Gayle (215), who have achieved the glorious feat.

Guptill, who was dropped by Marlon Samuels on 4 runs, Guptill, smashed 10 sixes in his marathon innings of 237*. Guptil made his second hundred from only 41 balls, beating the previous best World Cup knockout score of 149 made by Australia’s Adam Gilchrist.
