Virat Kohli led team India faced their first Test series white-wash in eight years. It was one humiliating defeat for the Indian Cricket team as the hosts chased down the target quite easily and defeated Team India by seven wickets in Christchurch.
As the day began, team India, with a lead to just 97 runs, needed a monumental from their batsmen to bring balance to the game. However, all that Indian batsmen could do was to add only 34 runs to their overnight tally of 90 runs. The Indian batsmen were bundled up by the bowling duo of Trent Boult and Tim Southee.
Later, as the New Zealand’s second innings began, team India started desperately in search of wickets. There was still some hope left from the Indian bowling attack as the visitors were hoping for their pace trio to dent New Zealand with a few early strikes. However, to everyone’s disappointment, both Umesh Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah were not able to replicate their counterparts and New Zealanders were inching closer to the target than expected in tough conditions.
Umesh Yadav gave India a much-needed breakthrough as he dismissed Tom Latham at the scores of 52 but the harm was already done. Jasprit Bumrah showed his brilliance once again and picked two major wickets of Tom Blundell (55)and Kane Williamson (5).
New Zealand sweep India 2-0!
It’s a seven-wicket victory for the @BLACKCAPS and they take all 120 World Test Championship points!

Superb! But for the small matter of the test series in Australia, what a wonderful summer of cricket this has been for @BLACKCAPS. Test series wins against England and India is no small feat. And they weren’t even that close in the end. #INDvNZ

Something you don’t often see all series!! Both Captains (yup both top in rankings) consistently failing with the bat!! #IndvNZ

Things to learn from the series. Batsman have to learn more patience, art of developing a partnership in tough situation and ballets need to develop minimal batting skills along with mix of swing and pace. #INDvNZ #AskSportsTak @vikrantgupta73

Suffered a drubbing in the Limited-overs leg. Came back in whites and shook the Indians to become the Player of the Series. Tim Southee

Ten matches in New Zealand. It ends 5-5. As far as overseas tours go, India didn’t do so badly.

Years change, captains change but India’s overseas results don’t. Australia result was just one lucky shot I guess.#NZvIND #INDvNZ
