Mohammed Siraj’s stardom is no less than a fairytale. From rags to riches his story breathes of dreams, determination and inspiration. The 23 year old pacer who has been playing in the Indian Premier League for the Hyderabad franchise got his maiden international cap today in the second T20 against the Kiwis.

Of course it was a very emotional moment for him and perhaps the best of his life but he did pretty well at not letting his emotions out when he was given his dream cap. All was good and his emotions were well intact but when team India was done singing the National Anthem before the game commenced Mohammed Siraj couldn’t hold on to his emotions.

Siraj got deeply emotional when the National Anthem was honoured and this showed his immense love for his country. There would always be people who would want to divide the nation in the name of religions but today Siraj too showed that we’re Indians first and then a Sikh or Hindu or a Muslim.

Talking about performance, the nervous debutant went for plenty in his first outing. The Kiwis batsman took a liking to him and he was hit for plenty. Even though he got his first wicket in his very first game but he finished with figures of 1 for 53 in 4 overs.

New Zealand decided to bat first after winning the toss and they have given India a mammoth target to chase. India has been asked to chase 197 and India has lost both openers cheaply.
