India registered a thumping win in the fifth and final match of the recently concluded One Day International (ODI) series against New Zealand. India sealed the series with a massive 190-run win against the Blackcaps.
India made a couple of changes from the last game and gave young spinner Jayant Yadav a chance of ahead of all-rounder Hardik Pandya. Jayant Yadav made a name for himself by giving good consistent performances at the domestic level. On a track that assistance for spinners, India fielded three spinners in the playing XI, giving Jayant Yadav his first ever ODI cap. Jayant Yadav will be a happy man after he made his debut for Team India in the fifth and final ODI against New Zealand in Vizag on Saturday. The Haryana off-spinner, who was picked India’s tour of Zimbabwe and brought in to replace Ishant Sharma during the Test series against New Zealand, replaced Hardik Pandya in the playing XI for the series-decider.
Jayant Yadav’s debut was made memorable with the massive win and also winning the trophy, but Yadav also took a wicket which made his debut ODI even more special. Yadav trapped Kiwi’s all-rounder Corey Anderson right in front of the stumps and claimed his first ever ODI wicket. Watch it here:
