Suresh Raina will miss the third ODI due to viral fever

Suresh Raina, after missing first two matches of the ongoing One Day International (ODI) series between India and New Zealand, has been declared unfit for the third game in Mohali as well.

Raina, according to some media reports, still hasn’t recovered from illness and needs more time before he gets 100% and back on the field. Raina hasn’t played much cricket for India this year. The last time he represented India in an ODI match was back in October 2015. He wasn’t even picked for the T20I series against West Indies in the United States of America (USA).

However, Rohit Sharma, who picked up an injury while batting in the second ODI at Feroz Shah Kotla in Delhi, has been declared fit to play in the third ODI at Punjab Cricket Association Stadium in Mohali.

The third match promises to be a good one as the series is leveled 1-1 and the pitch at PCA produces good matches. New Zealand gave a good performance in the second ODI and registered their first on the tour, after losing 3 Tests and the first ODI in Dharamshala. Kiwi bowlers bowled brilliantly and defended 242, after Kane Williamson’s brilliant hundred in the first innings.

The Third game in Mohali promises to be a good one as India will look to get back to wining ways and the Kiwis would look to continue their good form.
