This story will increase your respect for Mohammed Shami

India gave a solid performance in the second Test of the ongoing series against New Zealand and claimed the series 2-0 with one match still to go. India’s fast bowlers bowled well and did even better than the spin duo of Jadeja and Ashwin.

India’s  fast bowler Mohammed Shami played a key role in the victory picking up a total of six wickets, three in the first and three in the second innings, in the match. Shami, who was playing at his home ground, also took the final wicket of Trent Boult in the second innings to seal the game for India.

But very few people know that Mohammed Shami played the match despite his 14-month-old daughter, Aira, being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for two days.

Times Of India reported that Shami’s daughter Aira was suffering from high fever and breathing problems and was admitted to the ICU on Sunday. Mohammed Shami was informed about her medical condition at the end of day 2 last Saturday and he, reportedly, rushed to the hospital at the end of play on each day since.

Hats off to Mohammed Shami for giving his best on the field when his 14 months old daughter was admitted to the ICU.
