Umesh Yadav’s Old Video Has Gone Viral After His Comeback: The pitches in India are not really conducive to fast bowling and the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy is a testimony to this fact. Players like Jasprit Bumrah, Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, and Mohammed Siraj flourished in overseas Test games and have dominated batters around the world. However, when it comes to pitches in India, one pacer has made the ball talk and he is — Umesh Yadav.
Umesh Yadav Made A Powerful Comeback

Senior fast bowler Umesh Yadav was on fire for Team India in the first session of the second day’s play in Indore. Umesh was included in the playing XI, replacing Mohammed Shami, and made the most of the opportunity that came his way and impressed one and all with his performance.
He picked up three wickets and helped the Indian cricket team to dismiss the visitors for just 197 runs in the first innings. By getting rid of Cameron Green, Mitchell Starc, and Todd Murphy, Umesh completed 100 Test wickets in India.
He also broke legendary Kapil Dev‘s long-stand Test record as well. Yadav became the fastest to take 100 Test wickets in India. The right-arm pacer reached the mark with a strike rate of 46.1, which is better than that of Kapil’s (55.7).
Not just with the ball, Umesh was impressive with the bat too. He played a quickfire knock of 17 runs off 13 balls. With his knock, he also equaled Virat Kohli’s sixes record by hammering two big hits. Virat has hammered 24 sixes so far and with his first-innings double, Umesh has matched that tally.
Yadav’s Old Video Has Gone Viral
Meanwhile, an old video of Umesh Yadav has been making round on the internet, where the star bowler can be seen talking about his mindset when he doesn’t get to play. The video dates back to 2019 home series against South Africa when he took 3/37 and 3/22 in the Pune Test. He had said:
“This is part and parcel [of the game], it will keep happening as long as I play cricket,” he said after picking up match figures of 6 for 59 in India’s innings win. “These situations will keep coming, and I know I have to be ready when I get my chance. For that, it’s important to stay positive, keep playing the game, and stay focused.”
“These things (selection) aren’t in my hands. I can’t say, ‘no, I need to play every Test match’. All the bowlers are good, all of them are doing well, and there’s healthy competition. Whoever does well will keep playing. At some stage, each of us will get chances, and when that happens, I need to be ready, positive, and focused,” Umesh had said then.
