CSK vs GT: Chennai Super Kings’ star opener Ruturaj Gaikwad made a blockbuster start to his side in the opening match of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 against Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium on Friday, March 31.
Ruturaj Gaikwad Smashed The First Half-Century Of IPL 2023

Gaikwad became the first batter to register a half-century in the ongoing season. He reached the fifty in just 23 balls after Hardik Pandya won the toss and sent MS Dhoni‘s men into bat. He reached the milestone in style during Alzarri Joseph’s first over of the evening. Gaikwad hit 5 sixes and 3 boundaries by the time he got to his fifty.
Gaikwad displayed an impressive batting performance in the opening clash, however, he couldn’t reach the triple-figure mark as he was dismissed in the nervous 90s and failed to register his second century in the tournament.
Ruturaj played a stellar knock of 92 runs off 50 deliveries at a strike rate of 184.00. His amazing knock was laced with four boundaries and nine sixes.
Deepak Chahar Gave A Special Tribute
Meanwhile, a video has gone viral, where his teammate Deepak Chahar can be seen giving him a special “Whistle Podu” tribute. As the teammates in the CSK dressing room erupted in celebration, Deepak hailed Gaikwad by whistling for his stunning knock along with other team members.
