War Of Words Between Ravi Shastri And Ian Bishop

When fellow broadcaster Ian Bishop asked former Indian head coach Ravi Shastri whether or not Virat Kohli should start the batting for India, Shastri responded with confidence. He admitted the likelihood, and warned that such an occurrence would make the initial stance unsustainable.

Virat Kohli, batting first for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the Indian Premier League, has been outstanding. (IPL). The recent match between the Royal Challengers Bangalore and the Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswamy stadium provided a taste of that. The batter hit a home run-scoring double, single, or triple.

Kohli and Faf du Plessis opened the innings, as Kohli hammered an impressive 82-run knock while going undefeated. His classical innings were the game’s high point, ensuring that RCB fans at Chinnaswamy stadium got their money’s worth. At a strike rate of 167.35, he hit 6 fours and 5 sixes in his innings.

Kohli and his captain, Faf du Plessis, put up a 148-run opening stand, which set the tone for a successful outing. He appeared at ease even while facing the best swing bowlers in the world, who he reduced to sweating and seeming befuddled by comparison. Ian Bishop, a former cricketer, speculated that Kohli might begin the innings for India after seeing his stupendous performance at the top. His on-air words were as follows:

“Is the opening spot the place for him? There’s a lot of debate about it”

Ravi Shastri’s Bold Reply To Ian Bishop’s Query Of Virat Kohli Opening Innings For India

Ravi Shastri

Ravi Shastri heard Bishop’s inquiry and immediately provided an answer. He admitted that it’s possible for it to occur. But if that happens, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be a bad match for each other. The man spoke out.

“That’s always a possibility. But where India will probably look at, is that there is Rohit Sharma, there will probably be another left-hander. It might just get too top-heavy if Rohit and Virat open. But every time they’ve opened, the partnership has been massive.”

Kohli, notably, is India’s No.3 batter. In a couple Twenty20 internationals, he batted first. Last year he opened the batting alongside Rohit Sharma against England, and the two of them blasted an 82-run partnership.
