Sachin Tendulkar Wrote A Special Tweet For Shreyas Iyer After His Batting Heroics Against SL

Stylish Indian batter Shreyas Iyer has been receiving praises from all corners after he played a stellar knock against Sri Lanka in the ongoing day-night Test match at the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangaluru.

Though, he missed out on his second Test century by 8 runs, however, he played a breathtaking knock of 92 runs, which is being hailed as the best knock of his Test career so far.

Shreyas Iyer walked out to bat when the team looked in a spot of bother at 86/4 after the dismissal of Virat Kohli. He took time to settle down on the pitch and stitch a partnership with Rishabh Pant. Together they stitched a 40-run stand with, however, after Pant’s dismissal and with wickets falling regularly around him, Shreyas decided to switch the gear to attack mode.

Iyer smashed the Sri Lankans to all the corners of the ground and hit a monstrous six to reach his fifty. He turned lucky twice during his knock as he was dropped twice – first when he was on 50 and the next time when he was in the 80s but that doesn’t take away anything from the stellar knock that he played.

All thanks to the fighting knock of Iyer, India took past the 200-run mark. However, just when things looked in favor of Iyer reaching the three-figure mark easily, he was dismissed by Praveen Jayawickrama. He smashed 10 fours and 4 sixes during his stunning knock of 92 runs.

Meanwhile, batting legend Sachin Tendulkar took to Twitter and penned a special message for Shreyas. In his Tweet, Sachin hailed the counterattacking batting of Iyer on a difficult track that was helping the spinners. He wrote:

Great counterattacking batting from @ShreyasIyer15 on a track that was helping the spinners. His footwork was very good and because of that, he made batting look easy. #INDvSL”
