David Warner Revealed Why He Doesn’t Play In The PSL

One of the most destructive white-ball openers in the world, David Warner has, however, never graced the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Pakistan’s marquee T20 tournament which had started initially in the UAE and now recently was hosted in its entirety in Pakistan.

While David Warner is one of the most loved and successful players in the IPL, and he has almost always played in only one T20 league outside Australia, even when he was banned in 2018/19, he featured in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), but not in the PSL.

David Warner, who scored a fifty in the first Test in Rawalpindi and is on his first-ever trip as an international cricketer to Pakistan, himself talked about why he has never played in the PSL.

David Warner said that he would prioritise national duties over PSL

“Due to national duty, I haven’t played [in the] PSL. I’m here for the very first time in Pakistan,” David Warner reasoned while speaking with the reporters in a virtual press conference upon reaching Karachi for the second Test.

The Rawalpindi Test was an unattractive draw with only 14 wickets in total falling throughout the five days while 1187 runs were scored on the dead, flat, unresponsive surface.

David Warner, though, kept the fans entertained with his dance moves. Fans have been loving this side of the ‘Bull’ ever since he’s returned to cricket spending a year away from the field.

“It is important to enjoy the moments with the fans. I’m trying to entertain cricket fans in stadium through my presence. Fans are an important part of the game and it is important to keep them engaged during games.

I want to include everyone in the crowd and have always tried to stick to it. I connect with fans and they are always an important part of my game. They come and support us. When we entertain while doing well, they support us. I love being involved in them,” David Warner added.

The second Test will start on Saturday at the National Stadium in Karachi where the pitch is expected to offer more for the bowlers, especially spinners, than it did in the Rawalpindi.

David Warner will play for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2022.
