Sandeep Sharma bowled one of the best spell of his life in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore at Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore, on Friday. Sandeep, who plays Ranji Trophy for Punjab, swung the ball both ways on a flat Chinnaswamy surface.
Sandeep is known for his swing and he made full of the full ball by taking three massive wickets. He dismissed Chris Gayle in the first over of the innings and followed it by dismissing Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers in quick succession. By doing so, Sandeep became the first bowler to dismissing Virat Kohli, AB de Villiers and Chris Gayle in a match, in IPL.
Kings XI Punjab co-owner Preity Zinta revealed the promise Sandeep Sharma made to her before the match.
“Sandeep asked me for tickets before the game and I told him that there were no tickets available. But he needed the tickets for his family at the last minute. I asked him what will you give me? So, he said four wickets… but its okay he bagged three.”
After the match, in an interview to IPLT20.com, Sandeep said that it was a very satisfying outing for him.
“Felt very good after taking three wickets and winning the man-of-the-match. I was thinking before the match that if I could get Chris Gayle, AB de Villiers and Virat Kohli out, it will be so amazing. Everybody will talk about it. So whatever I was thinking, it came out to be true and I am very happy for that”.
