IPL 2017: Delhi Daredevils mentor Rahul Dravid was a proud and happy man after two of his youngest players- Sanju Samson and Rishabh Pant exhibited a batting masterclass against The Gujarat Lions at Feroz Shah Kotla stadium in Delhi, on Thursday. Both, Pant and Samson, batted very aggressively and chased down Gujarat’s total of 208 runs with 15 balls remaining. Pant, for his 97 off 43 balls, was the star of the show but he was supported brilliantly by Samson, who scored 61 runs off just 31 balls.

After the match, Rahul Dravid took a light-hearted interview of Pant and Samson and it’s an absolute must-watch for Indian cricket fans.

Rahul Dravid started the interview on a funny not by saying:

“I am glad that you have not been watching too many videos of me batting when you need 208 in 20 overs (joking that they were not influenced by his style of batting in their growing up days). Well done boys, terrific innings,” Dravid told the duo in an interview with iplt20.com.

Rishabh Pant spoke like Virender Sehwag. Throughout the 3-minute long interview, Pant focused only on seeing the ball and hitting it out of the ground. Samson also praised Pant’s clear thought process and revealed what the young Delhi batsman told to him while batting.

“Bhaiya jyada socho mat, bas maro (don’t think too much, just hit), I think that really helped me to go on. Enjoyed batting with him,” Sanju Samson told Rahul Dravid.

Dravid finished the interview by praising both the youngsters for their outstanding display of batting. But he also added that because he is a hard task master, he would like to see them remaining not out and finishing the matches for Delhi next time.

“I am a hard task master (and) I hope that you guys will next time finish the job and stay not out.”
