India vs Australia 2017: India’s captain Virat Kohli has struggled to score runs in the ongoing series and this has given opportunity to the Australian media to have a go at him. Right from the start of the ongoing 4-match series, Australian media has been very critical of Virat Kohli and they haven’t missed an opportunity to criticise India’s skipper. We have already seen many controversies and with series levelled 1-1 before the final in Dharamshala, we can expect more sledging and banter ahead of and also during the decider.
An article published in the Daily Telegraph called Virat Kohli the Donald Trump of world sport. This came after Virat Kohli had accused Australian players of disrespecting Indian cricket team’s physio Patrick Farhart.
“Virat Kohli has become the Donald Trump of world sport. Just like President Trump, Kohli decided to blame the media as a means of trying to hide the egg smeared right across his face,” read the article.
India’s senior actor Amitabh Bachchan took to Twitter and threw his weight behind Kohli. Mr. Bachchan thanked Australian media for acknowledging that Virat Kohli is a winner and the PRESIDENT.
“T 2471 – Aussi media calls Virat, Donald Trump of sports !! … thank you Aussi media for accepting that he is a winner and the PRESIDENT !!”
