The 2023 edition of the ICC Men’s ODI World Cup will take place in India in the months of October and November, where 10 teams will be competing against each other for the prestigious cup. This year, in the history of this tournament, the entire competition will take place in India and the matches will take place across 13 venues.
Narendra Modi Stadium To Host India vs Pakistan Match

While an official statement is still awaited regarding which stadium will host the games, but according to a report by The Indian Express, the BCCI is looking forward to picking Ahmedabad to host the high-voltage clash between the two arch-rivals.
For the unversed, the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad is the world’s largest stadium and has the seating capacity to host over 1 lakh spectators. India vs Pakistan game will definitely attract a large crowd and the venue will be ideal to give the best experience to the fans.
Besides the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Indore, Trivandrum, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Rajkot, and Dharamshala will also be hosting the World Cup games. However, only 7 out of these venues will host India’s seven matches in group stages. Ahmedabad will host India’s two matches if the Indian cricket team reaches the final.
Reportedly, Pakistan’s majority of games will be played in Chennai and Bengaluru. Though, both the venues were favorites to host India vs Pakistan game but Chennai will host India vs Australia. Kolkata’s iconic Eden Gardens is also in consideration to host Pakistan’s group-stage matches.
Meanwhile, the same report also revealed that the Indian cricket team has requested the BCCI to allot tough fixtures against Australia, New Zealand, England, and South Africa to venues that favors spinners. This will be a big advantage for team India, who have an excellent record on slow tracks with quality spin options.
