Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma is not having a great season in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League. He continued with his poor form in the ongoing game against Chennai Super Kings at the Chepauk Stadium in Chennai.
Rohit Sharma Created An Unwanted Record
Rohit Sharma, who walked out to bat at the no.3 position, was dismissed for a duck off a ball from Deepak Chahar. With this, Rohit has created an unwanted record in the IPL history, having recorded his 16th โno scoreโ, which is now the most by any batter in the leagueโs history.
Yes, you read that right. Rohit Sharma has now surpassed Sunil Narine, Mandeep Singh, and Dinesh Karthik, who were at the top of the list of players with the most ducks alongside Rohit before the MI vs CSK game started.

Rohit’s plan backfired
Rohit Sharma, who had scored a 3-ball duck in his previous game also, decided to not open for MI and give his opening slot to Australian all-rounder Cameron Green during the away game. This was for the first time in 62 innings over five years that Rohit has not opened for Mumbai Indians.
However, his plan failed to work as Cameron Green departed in the second over itself on a paltry score of 6 (4b, 4×1). On the other hand, Ishan Kishan survived just three other balls before he also walked back to the pavilion.
Rohit also offered a simple catch to CSK’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja at gully while trying to play a lap shot minutes later.
