MS Dhoni led Chennai Super Kings continued their purple patch in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League as they handed Delhi Capitals their 7th defeat of the season. CSK continues to sit in the second position in the points table with 15 points.
MS Dhoni played a crucial knock
During the game, skipper MS Dhoni played a crucial role and took everyone on a nostalgic trip. It was no less than an eye treat for the fans as Dhoni displayed his muscle power and smashed two big sixes against Khaleel Ahmed.
CSK was struggling as they only had 139 runs by the 18th over, but then Dhoni jumped into action and took the game by storm with his power hitting.
Khaleel Ahmed bowled the 19th over and after two good balls which went for singles, he was taken to the cleaners by MS Dhoni.
Dhoni took charge over Khaleel and smashed him for a stunning six over mid-wicket on the 3rd ball. He managed to hit a four on the next ball through the outside edge. The 41-year-old once again displayed his power as he smashed a six straight down on the final ball.

Meanwhile, after the first six, the camera panned toward Sakshi and Ziva Dhoni in the stands, and their reaction left the fans in awe. Ziva and Sakshi were seen clapping and hi-fiving one another.

Dhoni walked back to the pavilion in the final over after he attempted to hit another six as he was caught by David Warner at long-on on Mitchell Marshβs delivery. The wicketkeeper batter slammed 20 runs off just 9 balls to give his side a finishing touch as CSK posted a total of 167 runs.
