Fans Are Comparing Sanju Samson To MS Dhoni For His Selfless Act For Jaiswal

It was a night to remember for the Sanju Samson led Rajasthan Royals fans during the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Not just Rajasthan won the game but they also brushed aside the opposition, all thanks to the outstanding knock by young opener Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Yashasvi Jaiswal Played A Memorable Knock

Jaiswal, who is in red-hot form for the Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing season, continued his purple patch as he played a sensational knock of 98 *runs. He walked out to open the innings with Jos Buttler and remained unbeaten till the end of the game.

Yashasvi Jaiswal

Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed big hits from literally the first ball of the innings. He started his knock by hitting two back-to-back sixes off the first two balls of the innings and ended up taking a whopping 26 runs off the first over. During his knock, Jaiswal scripted history as he broke the record of the fastest half-century in the history of the Indian Premier League. Jaiswal reached the milestone in just 13 balls and left everyone awestruck with his batting heroics.

After Jos Buttler was dismissed, captain Sanju Samson started hitting as freely as Jaiswal, and the competition, in the end, became all about whether Jaiswal could reach his century before the end of the chase.

Sanju Samson Won Hearts With His Gesture

It came to a point where Jaiswal was batting at 94 and he was s standing at the non-striker’s end and his captain was on strike in the 13th over. RR needed just 3 runs to win. Samson himself was on 48 off 28 at the time and the bowler Suyash seemed to have sent the ball in wide down the leg side.

Suyash Sharma

Samson played a shot to make the last ball of the over from Suyash a legal delivery. Samson then signaled to Jaiswal to smash a six and reach the triple-figure mark although the youngster could only manage to score a boundary. The boundary proved to be the winning run for RR as they won the game by 9 wickets. Yashasvi missed his century by just 2 runs but he took his side home.

Samson’s gesture has earned him praise from all corners. There were many who started comparing Samson to MS Dhoni by recalling how the legendary Indian captain did the same for Virat Kohli in the semi-final of the 2014 T20 World Cup.
