Rajasthan Royals (RR) young all-rounder Riyan Parag, who is struggling to score runs in the ongoing 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League, has found himself at the receiving end of criticism and trolling. Fans are so disappointed with the poor performances of Parag that they are leaving no stone unturned to troll him.

Riyan Parag Is Enduring A Disastrous Season For RR

Over the years, irrespective of his performances, Rajasthan Royals have backed Parag for five back-to-back seasons now but his returns have been disappointing. Because of his failure with the bat this season, Parag was dropped from the playing XI and was replaced by Dhruv Juvel.

Parag has only managed to score 58 runs in six innings for Rajasthan Royals in the ongoing season. The all-rounder from Assam has endured a tough season so far and it will be interesting to see if he will be able to make a comeback.

Recently, in conversation with the broadcasters, Parag talked about his training sessions with Zubin Bharucha, the former Indian cricketer who is currently the High-Performance Director for the Royals, after being dropped from the side. He said:

“Time to get back to basics for me. I spent some time with Zubin (Bharucha) sir, and haven’t missed practice even once in the last five days,” Parag said. “(I’ve) Been doing long sessions and strengthening my basics. I’m trying to expand my hitting areas, I generally look to hit straight but now the focus is to try and hit all around the field. Want to keep more options available for me. It’s very simple for me, I want to win games for my side. Whenever I get a chance I’ll try to win a game for RR, because we have got 5 games left and we need to win three to finish top two.”

Rajasthan Royals Is Sitting At The Fourth Position

Talking about Rajasthan Royals, the Sanju Samson-led side had lost three games in a row, however, they put up a stellar show against Kolkata Knight Riders, which kept the Royals in the hunt for a playoff berth. Yashasvi Jaiswal played a sensational knock of 98* runs to help Rajasthan beat Kolkata by 9 wickets.

Rajasthan is currently sitting in the fourth position in the IPL 2023 points table with 6 defeats and 6 wins.
