Funny Memes After Mumbai Indians Defeated SRH And Remain Alive In Playoff Race

The Mumbai Indians (MI) recorded another 200+ run chase with utter, unbelievable ease by gunning down the target of 201 in 18 overs and 8 wickets in hands against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) courtesy of a blockbuster century from Cameron Green.

Cameron Green, who had been bought by MI for INR 17.5 crore in the IPL 2023 auction, scored 100* runs from 47 balls slamming 8 fours and 8 sixes en route his maiden T20 century. Rohit Sharma, the MI captain, cracked his second fifty of the season, scoring 56 runs off 37 balls to set the chase alight.

Earlier, the SRH openers Mayank Agarwal and Vivrant Sharma had got SRH off to a flier. The pair recorded an opening partnership of 140 runs in 13.5 overs. After both the openers were dismissed by the 17th over, the MI pacers made a good comeback to halt SRH to 200.

With this win, MI jumped to the 4th spot in the points table, pipping over RCB. MI finish the league phase with 16 points in 14 matches. RCB will be playing their last league game in the evening, against Gujarat Titans, in Bangalore. RCB have 14 points in 13 matches and have a better NRR than MI. So RCB simply need to win the match against GT to topple MI from the 4th spot and qualify for the playoffs.

Here are some of the hilarious memes on Mumbai Indians’ (MI) win over SRH:

Winning captain Rohit Sharma said: “We came with that mindset, we wanted to win and not worry about what happens elsewhere. What you can control, you can control and then hope for the best. I haven’t spoken to anyone. If we don’t go through, we’ve got ourselves to blame for it. If we go through, I’ll give all the credit to the boys. That’s how it works. Last year, we did a big favour to RCB, I hope we get the result what we are looking for.”

“We did a lot of things right as we went along. We didn’t start well and then won three on the trot. The crucial moments in the game that we lost – there were a lot of moments like that. The game against Punjab here where we needed around 34 runs off 18 balls, we could have probably played well. And the last game against LSG, we had the game in our hands after the first half of the innings. We can’t look too much into that. Sometimes it just doesn’t come along.”
