Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill has unlocked a new level in the latter part of the IPL 2023 as the right-hander smashed his third IPL hundred in a space of 4 innings.
Following on from his hundreds in the last two league matches against SRH and RCB, and the fighting 42 against CSK in Chepauk, Shubman led a carnage against the Mumbai Indians bowling attack in Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
Against MI, on Friday, Gill brought up his century off 49 balls as GT raced near to 150 inside 15 overs. He was aggressive right from the start of his innings.
Gill got a reprieve when he was on the score of 30 when Tim David dropped a difficult chance – but one he could have taken – in the 6th over. After that, Gill even became more aggressive and reached to his century in 49 balls. He continued on that beast mode to crack 2 two sixes and a four right after getting to three figures.
Shubman Gill became only the 4th batsman in the history of the IPL to record over 800 runs in the final.
Harsha Bhogle writes a gem of a tweet for Shubman Gill

Renowned commentator Bhogle is in awe of the form and elegance of the young opener and wrote a special tweet for Gill on his bumper season.
“He is taking his batting to an altogether different level. Without seeming to work up a sweat. Gill is going to give us many years of joy,” Bhogle tweeted.
