Former India batsman Mohammad Kaif revealed a hilarious anecdote about MS Dhoni that involved his son Kabir. Kaif and his family met the CSK captain at an airport as Mahendra Singh Dhoni was arriving post his knee surgery.
Kaif took to Twitter to reveal this incident of a small meetup between his and Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s family. Kaif said that MS Dhoni cheekily told his son Kabir that like Kabir, Dhoni himself also liked to play football when he was a kid.

“We met the great man and his family at airport today. He was returning home after surgery. Son Kabir super happy as Dhoni told him he too, like him, played football as a kid. Get well soon, see you next season champion,” Kaif tweeted with a picture of his son Kabir with MS Dhoni.
Will MS Dhoni play in IPL 2024?
Having undergone a knee surgery recently, it seems that he has decided to play in IPL 2024. An official announcement from the CSK skipper, though, remains awaited.
Dhoni’s knee operation was done at the Kokilaben Hospital in Mumbai by Dr. Dinshaw Pardiwala, the same doctor who treated Rishabh Pant’s knee injuries after Pant’s car accident. CSK CEO Kasi Viswanathan spoke to Dhoni after the surgery on Thursday morning.
“I spoke to him after the operation. I cannot explain what the surgery is about but we have been told it is a key-hole surgery. He sounded fine in our conversation,” Viswanathan told Cricbuzz.
Chennai Super Kings have sent their team doctor, Dr Madhu Thottappil, to Mumbai to oversee Dhoni’s treatment. The exact time of his full recovery is still uncertain but it is believed that Mahendra Singh Dhoni will recover in two months.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni, who will turn 42 this July, led CSK to their 5th IPL title earlier this week, defeating Gujarat Titans in the final at the Narendra Modi stadium in Ahmedabad.
