The Australian fast bowler is brutal and get the wheels rolling in any format of the game. Blessed with a menacing brand of reverse swing, Starc can rattle through the defences of any batter and leave that batter in utmost agony. One of the best fast bowlers in the modern era, Starc just featured in IPL for a couple of seasons and then chose to withdrew from the fray, in hope of prolonging his Test career. The English fast bowler who is also known as the King of Swing could have been a gift to IPL. However, Jimmy have solely been focusing on playing more and more cricket for England. Now that he is reduced to just Test cricket, he would not give it a thought of featuring in the IPL. However, in his heydays, he would have made a prime asset for any IPL franchise but then Test cricket seemed dear to him.

Another big name who could have made a lot of money in the IPL chose to focus on Test cricket and he still continues to be the dragon slayer in his own phenomenal fashion. Joe Root did take part in IPL 2023 but somehow his interest in IPL has been questionable and the big English batter was usually honing his flair for the Test format.
