Virat Kohli Can Achieve A Special Milestone Against West Indies

Indian batting superstar Virat Kohli didn’t have an impressive outing in the World Test Championship 2023 Final against Australia at The Oval in London.

Virat Kohli had a fruitful time in IPL 2023, during which he smashed back-to-back centuries. He accumulated 639 runs from 14 innings at 53.25 and a decent strike rate of 139.82. Considering his brilliant run in the IPL 2023, was expected to perform well in the WTC Final 2023.

However, he failed to convert them into a big number as he couldn’t do much in both innings, scoring just 14 and 49. Team India eventually suffered a 209-run defeat at The Oval.

Kohli will be next seen in action in the upcoming tour of the West Indies, where he would like to shrug off the WTC disappointment and make a fresh start.

The Rohit Sharma-led Test team will be playing two Test games in Dominica and Trinidad against West Indies. During the upcoming Tests against West Indies, Kohli will be eyeing a personal milestone. He will be looking forward to joining the elite 1000-Test run club against West Indies in the series.

So far, he has scored 822 runs in 14 Tests against West Indies. He only needs 188 more runs to become just the 11th Indian cricketer to score 1000 or more runs against them.

Batting legend Sunil Gavaskar holds the record for the most runs in India vs West Indies Test history having scored 2749 runs in 27 games.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Kohli resumed his training as he gears up for the upcoming challenges.  Kohli shared videos of his intense workout, showing his preparation for the upcoming Windies tour. Alongside the video, he shared a cryptic message that read,

“Look for excuses or look to get better.”
