It is likely that Sourav Ganguly will release the trailer of his biopic on his birthday

Taking to his Facebook page, Sourav Ganguly posted a picture of himself attired in an official suit and pants. He can be seen writing something on a piece of paper: “Leading With”.

About the big reveal on his 51st nameday, Sourav Ganguly captioned the post: “You asked & it’s here! Announcing something special on my birthday, 8th July … stay tuned.”

The former India captain is hailed to have put in the stones of the victory of the Indian team in 2011 World Cup and their success. Ganguly is hailed to have backed the likes of Sehwag, Yuvraj, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer, and Nehra when they were youngsters and upcoming cricketers.

While there weren’t a lot of big trophies India won under Ganguly, but some of their best performances came in winning the 2002 Natwest series in England and reaching the final of the 2003 World Cup, and becoming the joint winners of the 2002 Champions Trophy.

While at one stage Ganguly was forced out of the team due to his age, he spoke recently on whether something similar would be done to the likes of Rohit and Virat Kohli who are in their mid-thirties.

“I don’t believe too much in last time, first time. I believe in performances. I think they are 34-35, I don’t know what’s going to happen in the next World Cup. There are world tournaments every year – T20 cricket, 50-over cricket. It’s not like as in the past when we started – one every four years and then the Champions Trophy came in. So it’s about performances and I am sure Rohit as captain and Virat will be wanting to make it a big one not from a personal point of view but from winning it. I think that’s the biggest,” Ganguly told Star Sports.
