CLT20 2014: Suresh Raina must keep his good form going

Suresh Raina was in a great touch in the recently concluded ODI and T20 series against England. He looked a lot more confident. Many believe that he will be India’s X-factor in the World Cup 2015.

In the upcoming CLT20 2014, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and their fans would be hoping that Raina carries his good form in the tournament, as he’s one of the main-stays of CSK’s batting unit.

Raina is the leading run-scorer in the history of Indian Premier League. He’s very effective on the slow-low subcontinent pitches. He’s a genuine match-winner in this format.

Momentum is very important in any sport, and this is why it is very important for Raina that he keeps his run-scoring form going, and the CLT20 2014 is just an ideal scenario for him to do that.

Raina bats at number 3 for CSK, and for this reason, the whole balance of their side revolves around him. Chennai Super Kings are full of power-hitter and Raina’s role in the team is to anchor the innings while being aggressive and playing his natural game. And so far, Raina has done a brilliant job.

During my usual cricket discussions on Facebook groups and pages, I asked people about their views on Raina and how good a T20 player he is, and most of the members in the group agreed that he’s a brilliant T20 cricketer.

Akhil Joshi, a 25 year old cricket lover, who’s working in an aviation company in Delhi said, “Raina is a fantastic T20 player. He is a gutsy batsman, who backs himself to clear the ground. He is also a very handy part-time offie who has the knack of picking of breaking partnerships and picking key wickets. And yes, not to forget, he’s a brilliant fielder, too.

Raina is a complete T20 package. He’s a three-dimensional cricketer and this makes him a great asset in this format.

CLT20 2014 will be the ideal platform for him to keep his good form going.
