Rahul Dravid Involved In A Long Argument With Bartender Over Jonny Bairstow’s Run-Out

Indian head-coach Rahul Dravid has been associated with international cricket for almost three years now. He is hailed as one of the most genius minds to have ever played the game. In addition to his stunning record as a player, Rahul Dravid is known for his cool and calm demeanor. Not many can say that they have seen the legendary batter lose his cool or argue with anyone on and off the field.

However, Rahul Dravid couldn’t stop himself from getting involved in a long argument with a bartender in the Caribbeans.

Yes, you read that right. As revealed by India’s senior bowler Ravichandran Ashwin, Rahul Dravid was involved in a long argument with a bartender. The argument started when Dravid and the bartender began talking about Jonny Bairstow’s controversial run-out during the second Ashes Test between England and Australia at Lord’s.

For the unversed, Jonny Bairstow’s dismissal on the final day of the 2nd Test match, which Australia ultimately won by 43 runs despite an outstanding knock of 155 runs from Ben Stokes, reignited the ‘spirit of cricket’ debate, with several players and experts taking their stands on the controversial dismissal.

Jonny had left the crease immediately ducking under a Cameron Green bouncer. Alex Carey was quick to grab the ball and the opportunity as well as he threw the ball at the stumps and appealed for the wicket of Bairstow. The third umpire ruled Bairstow out.

Meanwhile, on his YouTube channel, Ashwin revealed how the Indian cricket team has also been busy talking about the controversial dismissal. He revealed:

“The other day, we were sitting on a beach, and Rahul bhai bought me a lemon juice,” said Ashwin. “He had a one-hour discussion with the bartender and waiter on whether Jonny Bairstow was out or not.”

They spoke about rules, the spirit of cricket, and everything in their discussion. They are all so passionate. Then suddenly an old man came and declared, “He Bairstow maan, he out maan!”,”

The Indian cricket team is currently preparing for the two-match Test series against West Indies. The series will begin tonight in Dominica. After the Tests, both teams will play 3 ODIs and 5 T20Is.
