Ravichandran Ashwin Made Everyone Nostalgic

On Saturday, while replying to a fan, Ashwin said that the excitement for the 2023 edition will kick in when the Asia Cup starts on August 31. He also said that social media will help to get more people involved in the much-awaited tournament.
Ravichandran Ashwin‘s reply came to a Tweet by a fan named Gurkirat Singh Gill, who is very famous on Twitter for his cricket-related posts. Gill felt that unlike in 2011 and 2016, there’s not much “excitement and vibe” except on social media. Gill wrote:
“Maybe it’s just me, but the vibe of the upcoming Cricket WC I feel exists only on Social Media.
Back in 2016 & 2011 it was much different. The excitement and vibe was palpable.”
Ravichandran Ashwin was quick to notice the Tweet and come up with a reply to it. In his reply, Ashwin expressed his excitement about the ODI World Cup 2023 and wrote:
“It’s a bit too early and I am sure it will kick in once the Asia cup begins.
The World Cup fixtures used to come out in small calendar type prints and I used to take it to school to discuss India’s games.🤩🤩 ( 96 , 99 and 03 WC )
Happening on Social media now and that’s a good thing cos more people can get involved.”
