Ian Bishop Made A Heartfelt Statement: Ever since the inception of the ODI World Cup in 1975, this is for the first time that the West Indies couldn’t qualify for the marquee tournament. The West Indies cricket team has found itself at the receiving end of criticism for their below-par performances. However, the Windies made a stellar comeback and closed their all-format series against India with a 3-2 win in the five T20Is.

Romario Shepherd‘s incredible bowling stole the show as he picked up four crucial wickets for just 31 runs in his spell of four overs. Jason Holder and Akeal Hosein contributed to the West Indies bowling effort with two wickets each.

While chasing the total, West Indies’ Brandon King played a swashbuckling knock of 85 not out off 55 balls, guiding his team to a comprehensive victory in just 18 overs. Nicholas Pooran played a crucial supporting role, adding 47 runs from 35 balls, cementing West Indies’ dominance and securing their series win.

Earlier, after winning the toss, riding on Suryakumar Yadav’s 61 of 45, the men in blue posted 165/8 in their 20 overs quota.

Ian Bishop Made An Emotional Statement After West Indies Win Against India

As Brandon King cleared the roped to wrap up an eight-wicket win in the 5th T20I match, the joy in the Windies camp, reflected how much a first bilateral series win for the hosts against Team India since 2016 meant.

Later after the result, on Sunday, former West Indies pacer Ian Bishop delivered an emotional statement, expressing how much the win meant to the team in the current situation of the team. Ian Bishop said:

“I saw some tweets on social media about the state of West Indies Cricket from my friends and colleagues. I would want to remind them that when your friend is hurt, you don’t say get rid of them. You try to find out how to help them. Leave it,”
