India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna and Jasprit Bumrah made successful comebacks to international cricket in the recent T20I series in Ireland, which India won 2-0.

Both Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna finished as the joint top wicket-takers in the series with 4 wickets each in 2 games. While Bumrah’s wickets came at an average of only 9.75, Krishna also had an impressive average of 15.25. Jasprit Bumrah was India’s captain in Ireland.

The duo will mark their ODI return in the upcoming Asia Cup 2023.

Eager to continue partnership with Jasprit Bumrah: Prasidh Krishna

Prasidh Krishna has 25 wickets in 14 ODI matches, the last of which was in August 2020. He’s the tallest pacer in the group and has the designated role of bowling in the middle-overs owing to his tall height and hit-the-deck ability through which he could generate extra bounce. He could be crucial in India’s plans for the World Cup, and it seems he will be fighting for a spot with Shardul Thakur in the World Cup squad.

Both the fast bowlers were returning from long-term back injury and had spent months together recovering at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

Speaking with Jio Cinema, Prasidh Krishna highlighted that spending time with Bumrah at the NCA helped him learn a lot about cricket and his fitness as well.

“Personally, I’ve always looked up to him because of his abilities and the way he keeps it simple. His knack of executing under pressure is something I’ve admired for a long time. Fortunately, I had ample time to be alongside him during our recovery period at the NCA,” Prasidh Krishna said.

Krishna hopes to have a strong partnership with Bumrah on the field in the upcoming months.

“It was often us working together, sticking to a planned approach. This gave us the opportunity to learn more about each other – how we prepare, and how we respond to in-game situations. It’s been a valuable experience. He’s also been supportive, whether it’s discussing cricket, mental aspects, or rehabilitation concerns. Our partnership is going great, and we’re eager to continue it,” he added.
