PAK vs IND: Virat Kohli's Fan From Pakistan Sings 'Chak De India' After His Century

PAK vs IND: There is no rivalry in cricket more heated or personal than the one between India and Pakistan. These two cricketing heavyweights have a long history of epic fights on the field, with games that have become symbols of national pride that go well beyond the realm of sport. The much-anticipated encounter on September 2 between India and Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 was also rained out. Despite the setback, a touching video surfaced that showed the true spirit of sportsmanship and the uniting force of cricket.

Cricket fans all around the world were moved by a video that went viral during the mayhem of the Asia Cup’s first match. In this clip, a Pakistani lady talks to a reporter about the game and, most especially, how much she admires Virat Kohli, the former captain of the Indian cricket team. The location, with the crowd filled with cheering Pakistani cricket fans, made the event all the more memorable.

An elderly guy made a move to cut her off as she spoke of how much she admired Virat Kohli. However, she replied with a grace and feeling of oneness that went beyond borders. She told him, “Uncle, loving your neighbours isn’t a bad thing” (Chacha, padosiyon se pyaar karna koi buri baat toh nahi hai). Her sentiments chimed with the belief that cricket, in all its splendour, can unite people across vast differences and spread a message of peace.

The reporter couldn’t help but press the Pakistani lady to choose between Virat Kohli and Babar Azam, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team. She selected Virat Kohli without hesitation despite the difficulty of the challenge. The audience behind her reacted negatively to her decision with a mixture of boos and disdain, highlighting the heated nature of the India-Pakistan cricket rivalry.

Let’s fast forward to the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4 game on September 11 between India and Pakistan. Virat Kohli, a player admired on both sides of the border, finally scored a century as tensions and emotions approached boiling point. The same Pakistani girl who had previously professed her adoration for Kohli could be heard stating, “Kaha tha na Kohli century marega” (Told you Kohli would hit a century) and then breaking into a version of “Chak De India.”
