The Indian cricket team is currently locking horns with Sri Lanka in the ongoing 3-match T20I series. Ahead of the series opener, Sri Lanka captain Dasun Shanaka won the toss at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai and decided to bowl first. The match referee Javagal Srinath informed that Shanaka had won the toss, he shook hands with Indian captain Hardik Pandya and informed him of his decision. However, it was the reaction of Hardik Pandya that has gone viral on the internet.

Hardik Pandya’s reaction to losing the toss has gone viral as he gave an epic two-word reply saying ‘I know’ referring to the predictability of the decision taken by the Sri Lanka captain to field first in Mumbai.

Hardik Pandya named captain of T20I squad vs Lanka, vice-captain of ODI squad - The Hindu BusinessLine

Hardik stunned cricket fans by revealing that team India was looking to bat first anyway as in bilateral games they want to prepare for harder situations and test teams in them. He said:

“We were going to bat first. Yes this is a chasing ground but we want to put ourselves in more difficult situations generally in bilaterals. Anyone who comes here we will make sure we’ll give them the confidence. Two debutants today – Gill and Mavi. Arshdeep was not available,”

Further, Hardik Pandya stated that leading the team is a special feeling as he is favorite to take over the team in the shortest format of the game on the permanent basis. Hardik has been promoted to India’s vice-captain in ODI cricket too for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. He said:

“Excited. Always been excited to play for the country, but obviously leading now makes it more special. Excited to see how this new bunch of guys express themselves,”
